How to choose an excavator breaker and precautions for use
As one of the most common parts of excavators, breakers are now widely used in mines, railways, highways, municipalities and other workplaces. How to choose a good breaker is the key, the editor of China Machinery will share with you:

1. The weight and bucket capacity of the excavator.

The weight of the excavator should be considered to prevent the excavator from tipping over due to the heavy weight of the breaker when the boom is fully extended. 

If the broken hammer is too large, it may cause the excavator to tip over. If it is too small, the excavator cannot be fully utilized. 

The efficiency of the excavator and the breaker will also accelerate the damage of the breaker. Only when the weight of the two matches can give full play to the functions of the excavator and the breaker.

2. Working flow and pressure of the breaker.

The working flow of hydraulic breakers of different sizes is different. The flow of small breakers can be as small as 15L per minute, while the flow of large breakers can reach more than 450L per minute. 

Therefore, when selecting a breaker, the flow requirement of the breaker must be consistent with the output flow of the spare valve of the excavator. 

The size of the flow determines the working frequency of the breaker, that is, the number of impacts per minute, and the flow is directly proportional to the number of impacts. 

When the output flow of the spare valve of the excavator is greater than the demand flow of the hydraulic breaker, it will cause the hydraulic system to generate too much heat, resulting in excessive system temperature and reducing the service life of the components.

3. The structure of the breaker is on board.

There are currently three common appearance designs for hydraulic breakers, which are triangular, right-angled and silent.

Triangle type and right angle type usually use two thick steel splints to protect both sides of the hammer core. This structure design does not protect the front and back of the hydraulic breaker. 

Their disadvantage is that they are noisier than the silent breaker of the same ton. , The steel plates on both sides are easy to loosen or break, and the protection of the hammer body is not good.

The structure of the silent breaker is that the shell completely encloses the hammer body, and the shell is equipped with damping material, which creates a buffer between the hammer body and the shell and also reduces the vibration of the carrier. 

Its advantage is that the hammer can be opposed to the hammer during work. The body provides better protection, low noise, reduces vibration to the carrier, and also solves the problem of loose shells, which is also the mainstream and development trend of the global market.

The model of hydraulic hammer is generally composed of letters and numbers. What is the meaning of the model, especially what the numbers in the model mean, let me explain some of the company's hydraulic hammer models and the meaning of the numbers.

1.1 The number in the model indicates the weight of the applicable excavator

The number in some models of some companies’ hydraulic hammers indicates the weight grade of the applicable excavator. For example, GB in the GB130 model is the abbreviation of the Korean Engineering Company (General Breaker), and the number 130 indicates that this type of hydraulic hammer is suitable for a machine weight of 130kN ( That is, excavators of around 13t) are suitable for excavators of 9 to 17t. By analogy, GB2oo and GB250 represent the hydraulic hammers of the engineering company, and the weights of the suitable excavators are 20t and 25t respectively.

1.2 The number in the model indicates the bucket capacity of the applicable excavator

The hydraulic hammer model SB50, SB stands for Soosun Hydraulic Breaker, and the number 50 means that the bucket capacity of the applicable excavator is 0.45~0.6 m3, which is about 0.5 m3. By analogy, SB60, SB80, and SB130 indicate that the bucket capacity of Shuishan Company's hydraulic hammer is about 0.6 m3, 0.8 m3, and 1.3 m3, respectively.

1.3 The number in the model indicates the impact energy of the hydraulic hammer

The hydraulic hammer model is GB320. GB in the model indicates the engineer series, and 320 indicates that the impact energy of the hydraulic hammer is about 320 J. Similarly, CB130, CB200, and CB250 represent Case's hydraulic hammers with impact energy of 130 J, 200 J, and 250 J, respectively.

[Excavator Breaker-How to Use]

1. Read the operating manual of the hydraulic breaker carefully to prevent damage to the hydraulic breaker and excavator, and operate them effectively.
2. Before operation, check whether the bolts and connectors are loose, and whether there is leakage in the hydraulic pipeline.
3. Do not peck holes in hard rocks with hydraulic breakers.
4. Do not operate the breaker with the piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder fully extended or fully retracted.

5. When the hydraulic hose vibrates violently, stop the operation of the breaker and check the pressure of the accumulator. 

6. Prevent interference between the boom of the excavator and the drill bit of the breaker. 

7. Except for the drill, do not immerse the breaker in water. 

8. Do not use the breaking hammer as a lifting device. 

9. Do not operate the breaker on the crawler side of the excavator.

10. When the hydraulic breaker is installed and connected with the hydraulic excavator or other construction machinery, the working pressure and flow rate of the main machine hydraulic system must meet the technical parameter requirements of the hydraulic breaker, and the "P" port of the hydraulic breaker should be connected to the main engine high-pressure oil circuit Connect, "A" port is connected with the return line of the main engine.
