Analysis of Fault Code of Hitachi Excavator
The following is the breakdown code analysis of Hitachi excavators compiled by China Machinery Online, for your reference and reading.
Used Hitachi EX60-1 excavator

1. Fault code 0164-04: Short circuit between fuel injection drive pressure sensor and ground

  ①Main failure phenomenon
  A. Diesel engine runs at low power.
  B. The diesel engine is running poorly at idle speed.

  ②Fault cause ECM detects all the following conditions
  A. The signal voltage of the fuel injection drive pressure sensor is lower than 0.1V for at least 0.6s;
  B. 5V sensor power supply line and battery positive short-circuit fault code 0262-03 currently does not exist;
  C. 5V sensor power supply line and ground short-circuit fault code 0262-04 currently does not exist;
  D. The power supply to the ECM has been at least 2s;
  E. Cold mode does not currently exist.

     ③System response ECM will record the fault code, which can be viewed on the display module or ET. ECM will mark the fuel injection drive pressure as invalid data and use the pressure of 17.5MPa as the default value. ECM will control the fuel injection drive pressure The valve current is set to a fixed value.

2. Fault code 0164-11: Mechanical failure of fuel injection drive pressure sensor



  ①Main failure phenomenon
  A. Diesel engine runs at low power.
  B. The diesel engine is running poorly at idle speed.
  C. The diesel engine is difficult to start under normal operating temperature.
  D. The diesel engine is easy to start when the temperature is lower than the normal operating temperature.

   ②Failure cause ECM detects one of the following conditions:
  A. The difference between the actual fuel injection drive pressure and the required fuel injection drive pressure exceeds 3MPa;
  B. The maximum or minimum current output time to the injection-driven pressure control valve is longer than the required time. This fault code indicates that there is a mechanical failure, and the ECM and electronic control system are operating normally.
  ③The system response ECM will record the fault code, which can be viewed on the display module or ET.
  ④Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting may only occur at operating temperature. If the system has been repaired recently, there may be air in the fuel injection drive system. Start the diesel engine at a speed of 1500r/min for several minutes to remove the remaining air.


3. Fault code 0168-02: system voltage pulsation


  ①Main failure phenomenon
  A. The diesel engine does not catch fire.

  B. The diesel engine stops running.

  

      ②The cause of the failure ECM has detected one of the following conditions:

  A. The diesel engine cannot start, the battery voltage drops below 9V, and it rises after 0.06s;
  B. The diesel engine cannot start, and the battery voltage drops 3 times in the last 7s, below 9V.


  ③ The system response ECM will record the fault code, which can be viewed on the display module or ET. ECM will record the code only when the diesel engine is running.

4. Fault code 0172-03: Open/short circuit of intake air temperature sensor and battery positive

  ①Main failure phenomenon Diesel engine running at low power.

  

      ②Fault cause ECM detects all the following conditions:

  A. ECM reads signal voltage above 4.92V for at least 8s;
  B. 5V sensor power supply line and battery positive short-circuit fault code 0262-03 currently does not exist;
  C. 5V sensor power supply line and ground short-circuit fault code 0262-04 currently does not exist;
  D. The power supply to the ECM has been at least 2s.

  ③ The system response ECM will record the fault code, which can be viewed on the display module or ET. The ECM will mark the intake air temperature as invalid data and use the temperature of 85 degrees as the default value.


5. Fault code 0172-04: Intake air temperature sensor grounding short circuit

  ①Main failure phenomenon Diesel engine running at low power.

  

      ②Fault cause ECM detects all the following conditions:

  A. ECM reads signal voltage below 0.2V for at least 8s;
  B. 5V sensor power supply line and battery positive short-circuit fault code 0262-03 currently does not exist;
  C. 5V sensor power supply line and ground short-circuit fault code 0262-04 currently does not exist;
  D. The power supply to the ECM has been at least 2s.

  ③ The system response ECM will record the fault code, which can be viewed on the display module or ET. The ECM will mark the intake air temperature as invalid data and use the temperature of 85 degrees as the default value.


6. Fault code 0175-03: open/short circuit of the oil temperature sensor and the positive electrode of the batter


  ①The main failure phenomenon has no failure phenomenon.

  

      ②Fault cause ECM detects all the following conditions:

  A. ECM reads signal voltage above 4.92V for at least 8s;
  B. 5V sensor power supply line and battery positive short-circuit fault code 0262-03 currently does not exist;
  C. 5V sensor power supply line and ground short-circuit fault code 0262-04 currently does not exist;
  D. The power supply to the ECM has been at least 2s.

      ③System response ECM will record the fault code, which can be viewed on the display module or ET. ECM will mark the oil temperature as invalid data, and adjust the oil temperature value to the coolant temperature value.If the coolant temperature sensor is faulty, One of the following values must be used:
  A. When the diesel engine is running, set the oil temperature to 65 degrees;
  B. When the diesel engine stops running, set the oil temperature to -10 degrees.
