The used excavator types are more according to operation modes. So, we know, for a certain project, corresponding suitable machine should be chosen. This is what we should learn and consider. The basic operation modes of used excavator are: mizobata excavation, side ditch excavation, straight excavation, curve excavation, ultra-deep excavation, gully slope excavation, so the construction areas are different.
1. The mizobata excavation.
The excavator excavates from one side of the trench, goes backwards along the centerline and keeps excavating, dump truck stops on the other side, the excavator arm and bucket rotate 40-45°to discharge. If the groove width is twice bigger than the maximum radius of gyration, dump trucks can only stop by the side of excavator, the arm and bucket need to rotate 90°to discharge. If the trench is wide enough, we can excavate in segments, when excavate to the end, it can turn around to the adjacent one. We should pay attendance to that each segment's width and the dump truck can travel on one side of trench. In this way, we can save time and improve efficiency.
2. Side ditch excavation.
The difference between side ditch excavation and mizobata excavation is that the dump truck can stop at the end of the trench, the excavator stops one side of the trench, the arm and bucket rotate less than 90°to discharge. This mode can save more time, and has high efficiency. Because the excavator moves along with the groove side, so the ditch slope is bigger.
3. Straight excavation.
If the trench is as wide as bucket, we can put the excavator on the centerline of the trench, excavate in lines from the front. Excavate to the required deep and turn back till finish. In this way, the excavator should move fast, and then the bottom of the trench can meet the requirements.
4. Curve excavation.
When we need to excavate curve trenches, we can dig short straight lines and attach them. In order to make the groove profile has a smooth curve, we should move the center line outward deflection, and move the excavator backward at the same time.
5. Ultra-deep excavation.
If the trench has a very large area and is ultra-deep, we can use stratified excavation or positive and negative buckets united operations.
6. Gully slope excavation.
When digging the gully slope, we should put the excavator on the side of the trench, use the adjustable extended stick to excavate, in this way , we don't need to modify the trench.

According to the mechanical action principle, the bucker can be divided into shovel bucket, backhoe bucket, grab bucket, drag bucket. The shovel bucket is stalled on the ends of stick, and driven by the cylinder, it digs from the bottom up, and the locus is arc-shaped, it is suitable for the sand, gravel and mine on the stop surface. The backhoe bucket connects with the stick rod, and driven by the cylinder, the power arise from the top down, the locus is arc-shaped, it is suitable for the sand, gravel and mine down below the stop surface
